With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, we wanted to share with you a list of fun couples’ activities at the Lake of the Ozarks for you to enjoy! Throughout the year, the Lake area offers specialty scheduled events, as well as regular everyday activities, that can be made even better by sharing them with your special someone. Start planning your couple’s getaway at the Lake of the Ozarks with one of these fun activities below:

1. Take a Tour of Bridal Cave

No matter what the weather decides to do, Bridal Cave is the perfect activity, as it remains a constant 60 degrees inside! Guided tours last approximately an hour, where you’ll see giant columns, soda straws and massive draperies throughout. There are more onyx formations than any other known cave or cavern. Learn more by reading The Legend of Bridal Cave on their website. The uniqueness and beauty of this cave makes it the perfect romantic backdrop for a date.

And every year around Valentine’s Day, they offer vow renewals! This year, you can renew your vows in the cave on Sunday, February 11th. Ceremonies will begin at 9am underground in their world famous bridal chapel.

1a. Sweetheart Black Light Tour at Stark Caverns

If caves are your thing, Stark Caverns is another great option in our area, and they’re doing a special event for Valentine’s Day! Head over there between February 9-18 for their Sweetheart Black Light Tour. You’ll be sipping champagne, sampling gourmet chocolates, posing for a keepsake photo and then gearing up for your Valentine’s-themed Black Light Tour in the cave. Get your tickets here. It’s also a fantastic cave to checkout year round!

2. Go For a Hike at Ha Ha Tonka

If you’re an active couple, you won’t want to miss the breathtaking views during a hike at Ha Ha Tonka! Walk around the remains of a huge, circa 1905 European-style stone castle, and look over the bluff for an amazing view of the Lake of the Ozarks. Enjoy a variety of trails to choose from, taking you past the castle ruins, caves, a spring, sinkholes, a natural bridge and down to the Lake. The park is open year round and admission and parking are free!

3. Sample Wines at Seven Springs Winery

The beautiful scenery at Seven Spring Winery presents a great atmosphere to enjoy quality time with your significant other. The winery sits atop 160 acres of rolling Missouri foothills between Camdenton and Osage Beach. In addition to locally-made wines and sangrias, the winery also offers a few micro-brews and a light menu consisting of soups, sandwiches, cheese trays and bread with dipping oils. During the winter season, they’re only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but will be open 7-days a week starting in March.

4. Breakout of an Escape Room

For the adventurous couples, consider checking out Lake Escape and see if you have what it takes to solve all the puzzles and clues, and escape the room before times up! They have 5 themed rooms for you to choose from, of differing difficulty. Walk-ins are welcome on the weekends pending availability, but advanced online booking is required for weekdays. While the rooms can be completed by just 2 people, consider grabbing friends for a double date and twice the fun!

5. Visit a Speakeasy

The Lake’s very own speakeasy is located in downtown Eldon and features locally sourced gourmet prohibition era food, wine, spirits, beer, cocktails and hand-made sodas. A Password is required for entry, so follow their Facebook page here to find the password of the night! This unique atmosphere is the perfect way to mix-up date night! And it gets even better, they’re hosting Capone’s Valentine’s Ball on February 14th! Step back into the Roaring Twenties and enjoy a night of swell tunes, as well as a 5-course dinner. Make your reservations today here.
